A few weeks ago, Sivaji made headlines for his controversial remarks at the Dhandoraa film event regarding female actors’ outfits. With that chapter behind him, the actor is now back in the news for his latest film, Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosini. Sivaji not only plays the lead role in the film but has also stepped in as its producer. Yesteryear actress Laya stars opposite him, while the film is directed by Sudhir Sriram.

Speaking at a promotional event, Sivaji opened up about how his second innings in cinema began. He revealed that he shares a long-standing relationship with Bapineedu, CEO of ETV Network. “A few years ago, I felt I couldn’t sustain myself in Hyderabad and decided to return to my native place,” Sivaji said.

He recalled that just before leaving, he randomly thought of meeting Bapineedu garu. “I told him that I had a couple of remake ideas and asked if they were worth doing. He then introduced me to Sai Krishna. Before I left, he asked me why I wasn’t acting anymore. I told him I would love to act if I got an opportunity,” Sivaji said.

A few days later, Sivaji received a call offering him a role in 90’s A Middle Class Biopic. Around the same time, he also got an offer to participate in Bigg Boss Telugu. “When I informed them about it, they advised me to do both. They shot my portions first, and then I entered Bigg Boss Telugu,” he explained.

The actor added that 90’s A Middle Class Biopic went on to become a huge success. “Everyone knows how well it performed. From that point, my life completely changed. I can never forget that one meeting with Bapineedu garu — it changed everything,” Sivaji said.

Talking about Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosini, Sivaji expressed strong confidence in the project. “This film will also be a big hit like my previous one. I actually didn’t invest my own money, but the ETV Win team made me the producer,” he revealed. He also mentioned that the film features over 30 artistes and is a crime comedy.

The film is set to stream directly on ETV Win from February 12.

Sivaji also had high praise for his co-star Laya. “She is extremely cooperative. Even when our shoot begins at 7.30 in the morning, she is ready at least half an hour early,” he said.
