Vijay Deverakonda is teaming up once again with director Rahul Sankrityan after their earlier hit Taxiwaala. Tentatively titled VD14, the film features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead and is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The makers shared an official update about the project on Saturday.
Marking Republic Day on January 26, the team announced that the film’s title will be unveiled on the same day. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, with T-Series presenting, the film is set against a British-era backdrop and is being mounted as a period action drama.
Set in the 19th century, the story is inspired by real historical events that took place between 1854 and 1878. Designed as a large-scale pan-India project, the film also marks Vijay Deverakonda’s third collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers after Dear Comrade and Kushi.
Vijay Deverakonda and Rahul Sankrityan are reuniting for this venture, after their 2018 release, Taxiwaala. For Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, VD14 will be their third film together after Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade.
