Director Suku Poorvaj is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Killer, an action drama set against a science-fiction backdrop. Speaking about the project, he said, “I wrote this script nearly five to six years ago. The teaser showcases only about 40 per cent of the film’s content.” He added that the trailer will be released in the coming days, after which more details about the film will be revealed.

Poorvaj’s debut film Shukra was released directly on OTT in 2019 due to the pandemic. His second film, Matarani Maunamidi, also missed a theatrical release following the second lockdown. Now, he returns with Killer, which he describes as a blend of artificial intelligence, emotional drama, and action. “The film also explores brother-sister bonding and revenge, and features a multi-layered screenplay,” the director said.

Apart from directing the film, Suku Poorvaj has also acted in it and co-produced the project along with Padmanabha Reddy. He revealed that Killer is a women-centric film, with Jyoti Poorvaj portraying multiple intriguing characters — Rakthika (a vampire), Raniya (a terrorist), Riya (a spy), and Rai (a poisonous woman), along with another role that has been kept under wraps. He also thanked the technical team and director Anil Ravipudi for supporting the teaser launch.

Female lead Jyoti Poorvaj said she wanted to break away from routine television roles and appreciated Suku Poorvaj for presenting her in a completely new avatar. She revealed that playing multiple characters in the film was a dream opportunity for any actor. Jyoti also performed action sequences, fulfilling her long-standing ambition of taking on action roles similar to Vijayashanti. “The team made this film by pushing beyond their limitations — not merely for profits, but to build a strong foundation as filmmakers and create opportunities for many through cinema,” she said.

The film also stars Manish Gilada, Chandrakant Kollu, Vishal Raj, Archana Ananth, and Gautham Chakradhar Koppishetty in key roles. The makers are planning to release Killer this summer.
