Earlier, the makers of Nagabandham, a mythological action drama directed by Abhishek Nama, giving a glimpse into the massive sets erected for the film. Now, the focus has shifted to the characters of the film. Starring Virat Karrna in the lead, the film is gearing up for a grand pan-India release this summer.

The teaser of Nagabandham is scheduled to be unveiled on February 15, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri. Ahead of this, the makers have released the first look of another pivotal character from the epic narrative.

Actor Rishabh Sawhney, who was seen in Fighter, will be seen portraying the Sultan Abdali in Nagabandham. Set in 1750, the film traces Abdali’s invasion of India, highlighting his brutal acts of looting temples and his relentless pursuit of immense wealth.

The first-look poster is set against a stormy, snow-covered battlefield. Rishabh is seen charging forward with a massive, blood-soaked battle axe, his expression fierce and determined. Behind him, a vast army advances, green war flags cutting through icy winds, joined by archers, warriors, and towering war elephants — creating a powerful and intense war tableau. Adding to the menace, a pack of wolves with glowing eyes surrounds him, amplifying the sense of danger and impending doom.

In Nagabandham, Abdali is portrayed as a ruthless and power-hungry figure, willing to sacrifice countless lives, including children, in his obsessive quest to uncover the mythical Nagabandham hidden in the Himalayas.

Director Abhishek Nama praised Rishabh Sawhney’s performance, stating that his portrayal is so convincing that it feels as though the historical figure has been brought to life on screen. “Rishabh has completely transformed into this complex character, adding depth and intensity to the role,” he said.

Expressing his thoughts, Rishabh Sawhney said, “I am honoured to portray a character as challenging as Abdali. I tried to capture the complexities and motivations of this historical figure while staying true to the essence of the story.”

The film also stars Nabha Natesh and Iswarya Menon as the female leads, with actors Jagapathi Babu, Jayaprakash, Murali Sharma, and BS Avinash playing key roles.
