Prime Video has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming series, Jagamae Sangeetham. The musical drama, which stars Prakash Raj in the lead, is set to premiere on September 4.
Based on Prime Video's Bandish Bandits, Palnati Surya Pratap has created and directed Jagamae Sangeetham. In a statement, Palnati said, "For me, Jagamae Sangeetham has always been about both the emotions of the story as well as the music that anchors it. Carnatic music became the perfect emotional language to tell this story because it carries generations of tradition, while allowing every artist to leave behind something deeply personal. This is a story about love, expectations, identity, and the ties that hold families together even when life pulls them apart."
Meanwhile, Prakash Raj, who essays the role of Shastri, said, "What fascinated me about Shastri was that, beneath all his discipline and conviction, he is a father trying to protect everything he holds dear. He’s not driven by ego as much as by fear of losing a legacy that has defined generations before him. That emotional complexity, as well as the opportunity to explore how music can heal, divide, and ultimately bring people together, drew me to this role."
The cast of Jagamae Sangeetham also includes Meka Srikanth, Madhubala, Akshay Lagusani, Sushmita Shetty, Suman, Sijju Menon, Shafi, Jhansi, Raghu Babu Yerra, Rocket Raghava, Nagi Jabardasth, Mirchi Kiran, Keshav Deepak, Priyanka Nalkari, Manik Reddy, Prachi Thaker, and Roopa Lakshmi, among others.
Vishal Chandrasekhar has composed the music, with Sushmita Konidela producing under the Gold Box Entertainment banner.
