Young actor Sumanth Prabhas is gearing up for his second film Godari Gattupaina, which is all set to release on May 8. Directed by debutant Subash Chandra, the trailer was unveiled at an event in Hyderabad. It suggests a breezy rural drama packed with romance, humour, and heartfelt family emotions.

Produced by Abhinav Rao, on his Red Puppet Productions, the film features Nidhi Pradeep as the female lead, while Jagapathi Babu plays a crucial role that adds weight to the narrative. After receiving a positive response to the teaser and songs, the makers have now released the trailer.

At its core, the film revolves around the tender love story between Raju, a simple and endearing auto driver, and Maaya, a college-going girl who travels in his auto every day. What begins as silent admiration gradually blossoms into love. While Maaya reciprocates his feelings, their journey is not without obstacles. Raju must earn the approval of her protective father, making trust the biggest hurdle in their relationship and turning their romance into an emotional test of values.

Sumanth Prabhas fits the role of a village boy with ease, bringing charm and authenticity, especially through his Godavari dialect. Nidhi Pradeep appears refreshing as Maaya, torn between her love for Raju and her deep bond with her father. Jagapathi Babu delivers a layered performance as the strict yet caring father, while Laila adds emotional depth as his wife. Sudarshan, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, and Viva Raghav provide the film’s humour.

Director Subash Chandra opts for an organic rural love story enriched with family drama and light-hearted moments. While the romance brings its own charm, the father–daughter emotional arc emerges as the heart of the film. Cinematographer Sai Santhosh captures the rustic beauty of the Godavari region, while Naga Vamshi Krishna’s music enhances both the visuals and the storytelling. Production designer Pravalya and editor Anil Kumar P contribute effectively, with solid production values shaping the film’s world.
