Recently, we reported about composer Sai Abhyankkar being part of director Atlee's film Raaka, starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Sai talked about what he and Atlee have in mind with regard to the musical approach for the film.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India recently, Sai Abhyankkar said that Atlee had "very peculiar ideas" regarding the approach towards the album and musical score for the film. "We are just starting it out, so I do not want to reveal much about it. We have cooked a lot of songs for it. By God's grace, it has all come out really well. We are working on the lyrics and so forth right now," Sai said about Raaka.
The composer also said that he and Atlee have been wanting to bring "a very intricate soundscape" for the film's album. "That will be the final goal also for us to get it to that space. We also want it go international. We are producing it in such a way, with a lot of international collabs from the singers, lyricists and everybody."
Raaka also stars Yogi Babu. The film is shaping up to be a big-scale project, blending elements of science-fiction, fantasy and superhero cinema. Anticipation around it has gone up considerably when Atlee and Allu Arjun visited leading VFX studios situated in Los Angeles and hit a fever pitch with the title announcement.
Beyond Raaka, Sai has multiple other projects at various stages of production. He is also part of Karuppu, starring Suriya in the lead role and directed by RJ Balaji, and Dhanush's 55th film, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy.
