Actor Thiruveer has been consistently delivering content-driven films and building a steady career. His earlier film The Great Pre-Wedding Show was a commercial success and also won recognition at the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards. He has become a dependable actor for small producers and new talent.
Now, he is coming up with a new film titled Papam Pratap, which introduces SP Durga Naresh as a director. Payal Radhakrishna plays the female lead, while Rakesh Reddy Gaddam and Rudradev Madireddy have jointly produced the film under the Krishi Entertainments banner.
The makers have now unveiled the trailer, which looks both interesting and entertaining. Set in 1998 in the Godavari region, the story revolves around Pratap, who marries Bujjamma. However, just three days after their wedding, she leaves him. The issue soon becomes a topic of discussion in the village and eventually reaches the elders for resolution.
The trailer presents the central conflict — what exactly happened between the couple, why Bujjamma left Pratap, and who is at fault — in an engaging and emotional manner. One dialogue stands out: when a woman leaves her husband, people question what the man did to her, but rarely ask what the man went through. This line adds curiosity and emotional depth to the narrative.
Thiruveer is gradually cementing his place with films that balance entertainment and emotion. Ajay Ghosh plays his father in the film, while senior actor Raasi also appears in an important role. The film also features Srinivas Avasarala, Raghu Babu, Prasad Behara, Goparaju Ramana and others in key roles.
At the trailer launch event, filmmakers and actors including Allari Naresh, Harish Shankar, Dasarath and BVS Ravi attended and appreciated both the trailer and Thiruveer’s performance.
ETV Win, which has recently been backing several small and concept-driven films, is also supporting Papam Pratap. The film is set to release in theatres on April 17.
