According to reports, the release of Ram Charan’s much-awaited film Peddi is almost certain to be postponed. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on April 30, but the makers are now said to be considering a new date, which is expected to be announced officially in the next few days.

If the film is postponed, this will be the second time the makers have pushed its release. Initially, Peddi was supposed to release on March 27. However, due to pending production work, the team shifted the date to April 30.

Now, even that release window appears difficult to meet. The makers still have to shoot two songs and a few important scenes, making it impossible to complete the film in time. As a result, they are taking more time to decide on a suitable date before making an official announcement.

Buchi Babu Sana is directing the film, while Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead. Peddi is one of the most-awaited films of 2026. The film is being produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru, with Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings also backing the project. Ram Charan will be seen playing a sportsman in a story set against a rural backdrop.

The makers have already released a few promotional glimpses. In one of the videos, Ram Charan is seen playing cricket, and the clip quickly went viral. The songs ‘Chikiri Chikiri’ and ‘Rai Rai Raa Raa’ have also become instant chartbusters and have remained popular for several weeks. Music for the film has been composed by AR Rahman.

Recently, the team unveiled Ram Charan’s intense ‘Peddi Pehelwan’ look, which further increased the buzz around the film. They also released a special video featuring the character, and it too went viral on social media.

Another reason behind the possible postponement is the ongoing Indian Premier League. Since many audiences are currently occupied with IPL matches in the evenings, the makers reportedly want to avoid releasing the film during the tournament.

As a result, the team is now looking at a new release window after the IPL concludes. If all goes as planned, Peddi may finally arrive in June, which would also work well because of the summer holiday season.
