The much anticipated Pawan Kalyan actioner OG had its premiere shows on Wednesday night across the Two Telugu states as well as in overseas markets, ahead of its worldwide release on Thursday. The early reviews are in, and the Pawan Kalyan starrer is receiving largely mixed opinions.

An X user with the handle ‘ArunKalyan5’ posted, “Peak first half with excellent scenes and interval, 2nd half started with a bang scenes, family drama is good.” He also noted that every scene gave a proper high, and some scenes had peak material for Pawan Kalyan fanboys, rating the film 3.75 out of 5.

Another X user named Ridvik stated that while Pawan Kalyan looked stylish, OG as a film lacked substance, originality in writing, or any set up-pay offs for elevations.

A username named Hari Krishna Raju too spoke about the elevation points that had no build-ups, adding that such hero-worshipping without the presence of a strong villain might work for Pawan Kalyan fans, but for an average viewer, the film offers nothing special.

A username with the handle ‘ mudunuri_sharat’ criticised the film in detail, lambasting director Sujeeth for his gimmicky writing instead of building a coherent script. He also found the VFX quality underwhelming, and said that the film doesn’t have much to offer besides a few elevation blocks.

At the same time, he called OG a better Pawan Kalyan outing than most of his recent films.

While some of the individual scenes are garnering a lot of praise — like the interval block, a post-interval scene set in a police station. Some segments of audience are also liking the climax.

However, by the initial responses online, it seems that Pawan Kalyan’s OG has come up short while meeting audience’s expectations and the gigantic hype that had built up till the film’s release.
