Besides creating a sensation at the box office, Pawan Kalyan starrer They Call Him OG is also receiving a lot from film industry personalities across the board. The latest to join the film’s fanclub is Dragon filmmaker Ashwath Marimathu.

Taking to his X page on Thursday, Ashwath penned a brief note about OG, stating, “OG - truly the original gangster, Pawan Kalyan sir! I am sure Andhra and Telangana are on fire.” Ashwath also praised OG director Sujeeth for his work, besides acknowledging the impact of cinematographer Ravi K Chandran and ‘spellbinding’ music by Thaman S.

Earlier today, prominent personalities like Ram Charan, Sai Durgha Tej, Nani, Rag Mayur, and Daaku Maharaaj director Bobby Kolli shared their positive experiences of watching OG in packed theatres. Nani had posted, “What fun watching you three unleash, Pawan sir, Thaman and Sujeeth.” Meanwhile, Ram Charan wrote, “OG is not just a film. It is a festival for all Powerstar Pawan Kalyan Garu fans. Sujeeth has delivered a treat for everyone, and Thaman breathes fire with his music.”

Produced under the banner of DVV Entertainment, OG also starred Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Prakash Rej and Sriya Reddy in the lead cast. By early estimates, OG is likely to cross the 100 crore figure for its opening day collections, joining the leagues of RRR, KGF 2, Salaar, and Sujeeth’s own Saaho.

In our review for the film, we noted, “This has been Pawan Kalyan’s long, uneven romance with action films. His persona, martial artist, Japanese cinema enthusiast, philosopher-politician, always promises more than the films deliver. OG doesn’t break the cycle, it cements it. The rest of the cast floats around like garnishing in an over-dressed salad."
