On the eve of the release of the trailer of The Girlfriend, the makers have revealed that Anu Emmanuel will be playing the role of Durga in the film. Headlined by Rashmika Mandanna, The Girlfriend is set to release on November 7.

The Girlfriend sees Rahul Ravindran return to the director's chair after 6 years. His previous directorial was Manmadhudu 2, his sophomore attempt, after his debut directorial Chi La Sow. Dheeraj Mogilineni and Vidya Kopineedi are producing the film. Allu Aravind is presenting the film. Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment and Geetha Arts are backing the film.

The cast of The Girlfriend also includes Dheekshith Shetty, Rao Ramesh, and Rohini. Hesham Abdul Wahab is composing music for the film, making it his second Telugu soundtrack of 2025, after 8 Vasanthalu.

With Prashanth R Vihari composing the background score, the rest of the crew of the film includes Krishnan Vasant as the cinematographer, Chota K Prasad as the editor, and S Rama Krishna and Monika Nigotre as the production designers.

Anu Emmanuel's previous Telugu outing was in the 2023 film Ravanasura, starring Ravi Teja in the lead. She was last seen alongside Karthi in Japan.
