The first teaser of Vishwak Sen’s Funky was unveiled a few days ago. Now reports are coming in that the makers are planning to release their film on December 25, on the occasion of Christmas.

This will be second Vishwak Sen release this year, after Laila, a broad comedy which opened to negative reviews across the board and failed at the box office. With Funky, Vishwak Sen promises to score a hit and bounce back as a reliable star. In Funky, Vishwak Sen plays Komal, a popular film director, while Kayadu Lohar stars as an actress Chitra who happens to be the daughter of a wealthy producer.

Earlier, Adivi Sesh-Mrunal Thakur starrer Dacoit was scheduled to release on December 25. However, the film is reportedly postponed due to Adivi Sesh's injuries during a shoot. A few days ago, the makers of Champion, a period sports drama starring Roshan Meka and Anaswara Rajan had then set December 25 as their film's release date.

Sithara Entertainments is producing Funky in collaboration with their frequent associate Fortune Four Entertainments. Meanwhile, Srikara Studios is onboard as the presenter. Funky was officially launched in December 2024, with a shoot commencing in January this year.

Anudeep shares writing credits with Mohan Sato, who has previously worked on films like Needi Naadi Oka Katha and Virata Parvam. Bheems Cecicoleo is the music director for the film. Navin Nooli helms editing. Suresh Sarangam, known for his work in the Mathu Vadalara franchise, is the cinematographer.

Touted to be a satire on film industry, the film promises to be yet another zingy entertainer from Anudeep KV after Jathi Ratnalu. Funky also marks second collaboration between Vishwak Sen and producer Naga Vamsi, after their 2024 crime drama Gangs of Godavari.
