The duo behind the 2024 sleeper hit Committee Kurrollu are officially teaming up again for their second collaboration, set to roll out under Pink Elephant Pictures. The yet-to-be-titled project is currently in development and is expected to go on floors in 2026. Given the phenomenal response to Committee Kurrollu, expectations are strong for what this reunion could deliver.

Committee Kurrollu was one of 2024’s biggest underdog success stories. Made on a modest Rs 9 crore budget, the film went on to collect Rs 18.5 crores theatrically and another Rs 6 crores in non-theatrical revenues, clocking a total of Rs 24.5 crores. It was celebrated not just for its box-office success but also for its fresh narrative, introducing 11 debutant male actors and 4 new female actors to Telugu cinema.

Committee Kurrollu also turned out to be a major awards favourite. The Telangana Government’s Gaddar Awards recognised the film as Best Feature Film on National Integration, Communal Harmony and Social Uplift of Depressed Classes, while Yadhu Vamsi bagged Best Debut Director.

Meanwhile, Pink Elephant Pictures already has another film, Production No. 2, directed by Manasa Sharma and starring Sangeeth Shobhan and Nayan Sarika, in the works. The film is billed as a fantasy-comedy, with music by Anudeep Dev and a story co-written by Mahesh Uppala.
