Actor Teja Sajja's latest fantasy action film Mirai, has crossed another milestone at the box office. Globally, it has minted over Rs 150 crore, marking the actor's second Rs 100 crore film after his previous outing Hanu-Man. Its country-wide total has also breached the Rs 100 crore mark. This stands as a significant milestone in Teja Sajja's career as he has given two back-to-back hits which were positively received by the audience.

The actor's previous film Hanu-Man (2024), directed by Prasanth Varma, had also achieved a similar feat, earning nearly Rs. 250 crore in India and Rs. 350 crore worldwide in its theatrical run.

Directed by Karthik GhattamaneniMirai is an action-adventure blending mythology with modern superhero storytelling. Teja’s character Vedha embarks on a journey to attain Mirai, a divine staff linked to Lord Rama’s path in Treta Yuga.

The film is based on Ashokan mythology. Manchu Manoj plays the antagonist Black Sword, who is in pursuit of nine sacred books that could make him invincible. The film also features Shriya Saran as Teja’s mother, Jayaram and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, Rajendranath Zutshi, Pawan Chopra and Tanja Keller round out the supporting cast of the film.

Produced as a pan-Indian release, Mirai hit theatres in 2D and 3D across eight languages on September 12, clashing with Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ horror-thriller Kishkindhapuri. It received mixed to positive reviews from audiences and critics. Despite slowing down after the release of Pawan Kalyan's OG, the film continues to witness footfall in theatres.

Our CE review of the film read, "Karthik Gattamneni’s film has grand passion, hit-and-miss visual design, but its few sparks of childlike wonder somewhat hold it."

JioHotstar has reportedly acquired the film’s OTT rights and will be released on the platform after an eight-week window.
