After several delays and plenty of speculation, Ravi Teja’s much-awaited Mass Jathara has finally circled its release date. The film, directed by writer-director Bhanu Bhogavarapu, will hit cinemas worldwide on October 31 coinciding with the re-release of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Epic.

The announcement came in true Ravi Teja style, with the team dropping a quirky promo featuring the actor alongside Hyper Aadhi. The tongue-in-cheek video sees the unit poking fun at themselves for postponing the release multiple times, before Ravi Teja seals the deal with a cheeky punchline, calling producer Naga Vamsi “Chintu,” a nickname popularised by netizens. The humour-infused reveal instantly caught fans’ attention, ensuring the wait ended on a playful note.

Mass Jathara reunites Ravi Teja with Sreeleela, after their energetic pairing in Dhamaka. This time, the actor slips into the role of a railway police officer, with the teaser already hinting at a cocktail of action, comedy, romance and nostalgia. The film also ropes in veteran actor Rajendra Prasad as the hero’s eccentric grandfather.

Backed by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, with Srikara Studios presenting, Mass Jathara is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya. Bheems Ceciroleo is on music duties, having already delivered two massy tracks, while Vidhu Ayyanna cranks the camera, Navin Nooli edits, and Nagendra Tangala handles production design.

Ravi Teja, who was last seen in Harish Shankar’s Mr Bachchan, returns here to his comfort zone of commercial cinema. Director Bhanu Bhogavarapu, who previously penned the hit Samajavaragamana, steps into the director’s chair for the first time.
