Actor Keerthy Suresh has been officially appointed as UNICEF India’s Celebrity Advocate, marking a significant new chapter in her public engagement efforts. Widely known for her work across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema, the National Award-winning performer will now join UNICEF in promoting key child rights issues, including mental health, overall well-being, and equal opportunities for every child.
Keerthy has long been applauded for portraying strong, socially conscious characters on screen—roles that reflect her own commitment to gender equality and empowerment. Her association with UNICEF aims to build on this foundation by amplifying conversations around children’s needs, rights, and development.
UNICEF India Representative Cynthia McCaffrey expressed confidence in the impact Keerthy is poised to make, noting that her resonance with audiences will strengthen the organisation’s mission. “As UNICEF India’s Celebrity Advocate, she brings passion and influence to our shared mission to reach every child, every young person—especially the most vulnerable—with the quality support and services they need to be safe, healthy, and equipped to pursue their dreams,” McCaffrey said in a statement.
Keerthy shared her own perspective on taking up the role, calling children both “our greatest responsibility and our greatest hope.” She emphasised the importance of emotional and nurturing care in shaping young lives. “I have always believed that nurturing, loving care builds the foundation for children to develop the social and emotional skills they need to lead happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives,” she said. “I am honoured to join hands with UNICEF India to raise awareness and inspire action so that every child, regardless of background or ability, can thrive.”
On the professional front, Keerthy is gearing up for the release of her upcoming Telugu film Revolver Rita, written and directed by JK Chandru. The film features an ensemble cast including Radhika Sarathkumar, Super Subbarayan, Sunil, Ajay Ghosh, Redin Kingsley, and John Vijay. Revolver Rita is set to hit theatres on November 28.
Meanwhile, she also has Thottam with Antony Varghese and another film with Mysskin.
