The makers of the Rashmika Mandanna starrer The Girlfriend are happy about the response for the film. Dheekshith Shetty played the lead actor opposite Rashmika, while Rahul Ravindran is the director. Popular producer Allu Aravind is the presenter. The team held a success meet and producer Allu Aravind said that the collections are improving show after show. Director Rahul Ravindran said he called Rashmika after the release and she got very emotional.

“During the making of The Girlfriend, Rashmika used to say that this film is like a big hug from her to all women. I would tell her that it’s my hug to all men, to encourage them to become better boyfriends and better husbands. After the release, I called Rashmika and told her that our words had come true; she got very emotional,” said Rahul Ravindran. He added that after the premiere, one woman journalist even cried while interviewing him. “A woman from Gujarat messaged me on Instagram saying that the movie gave her courage. Seeing such responses, I feel so fulfilled that I wouldn’t mind even if I never make another film,” said Rahul.

The director said that the media encouraged this film and gave positive reviews. “The emotions I wanted to convey were perfectly understood by the media, their reviews reflected exactly what I intended. This success is largely due to Aravind garu, who believed in my vision and gave me complete creative freedom,” said Rahul.

Producer Allu Aravind expressed that the media gave a good report about the film. “Before the release of this film, I expressed confidence that our media friends would take this good film to the audience and support it responsibly. This press meet is mainly to thank all of the media,” he said. Aravind added that from morning and matinee shows onwards, the collections have been increasing steadily. “Women are becoming emotional after watching this film, that alone feels like a huge reward for our effort,” said Aravind.

He praised director Rahul for his wonderful job of bringing out the pain and emotions women often suppress. “He is the primary reason for the film’s success. The lead pair have delivered outstanding performances,” said the producer.
