Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who recently made a prominent appearance in the thriller-drama Shivangi, is the lead star of another upcoming thriller titled Police Complaint. The first look of the film was released on Friday.

The makers launched the first look on the occasion of superstar Krishna’s birth anniversary, which features Varalaxmi as a police officer. Reportedly, there is also a special song in the film dedicated to the late actor. Police Complaint is billed as a horror-thriller with a concept-driven narrative. Incidentally, Shivangi too had Varalaxmi in a cop’s role.

Police Complaint is being jointly produced by Singapore Balakrishna and Mallela Prabhakar under the banners MSK Pramidasri Films and Sri Vishnu Global Media. Sanjeev Megoti, known for films like Aghora, Pourusham, Adiparvam and Raghava Reddy, helms the direction. Speaking about his film, Sanjeev stated in an official press release, “The film revolves around the concept of ‘Chain Reaction of Karma’ — the idea that every action has a consequence. We’re presenting this concept through a new lens in a horror-thriller format.”

The supporting cast of the film includes Naveen Chandra, Sharath Lohitashwa, Babloo Prithveeraj, Srinivas Reddy, Sapthagiri, Gemini Suresh, Jabardasth Naveen, and Baby Tanasvi (of Pottel fame), Ragini Dwivedi, Aditya Om, Singapore Balakrishna, and Duggireddy Venkata Reddy.

Cinematography is by SN Harish, and RM Vishwanath is the editor. Also, there are multiple music directors on board. Dragon Prakash and Raviteja have designed the action sequences.

Varalaxmi’s other recent Telugu film credits include Mercy Killing and Sabari.
