The teaser for Arjun Sarja’s directorial Seetha Payanam was launched on Wednesday. Director Sukumar and actor-director Upendra were chief guests for the event. During his speech, Sukumar shared his admiration for Upendra and his ‘cult’ films.

“I think there is no director in India who is as mad as Upendra. If a director makes films like A, Om and Upendra, they can happily retire. If I make such films, I definitely would. Those movies are at that level of cult. Today if my screenplay is like this, it’s because of Upendra’s movies. He always surprises audiences. I stole that from you (Upendra),” Sukumar stated to a wide-eyed Upendra. 

Seetha Payanam is a trilingual love story, marking the debut of Aishwarya Arjun, daughter of Arjun Sarja and Niranjan, who is the son of Upendra’s brother. The film has music composed by Anup Rubens, cinematography by G. Balamurugan and editing by Ayoob Khan. The film’s Telugu dialogues are penned by Sai Madhav Burra. The love story also has a guest appearance from Dhruva Sarja. The makers are yet to announce a release date.
