Triptii Dimri has been officially announced as the female lead of Spirit, the upcoming film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga which stars Prabhas in the lead. The casting follows Deepika Padukone’s reported exit from the film due to scheduling and remuneration-related reasons. Reacting to the announcement, Ram Gopal Varma took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise Vanga for the decision.

Varma wrote, “Hey Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Going by both her tremendous screen presence and performance which you showcased in ANIMAL, I think your decision will make her the NEXT BIG THING IN BOLLYWOOD far beyond the current BIGGIES. CONGRAAATS Tripti, High Time for your SPIRIT to FLY into the SKY."

Triptii responded to RGV’s message with, “Thank you sir… means a lot coming from you.” She had earlier expressed her gratitude to the team through social media, writing, “Still sinking in…So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you Sandeep Vanga. Honoured to be a part of your vision."

Spirit marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Triptii Dimri. It is also Triptii’s second project with Vanga and producers Bhushan Kumar and Pranay Reddy Vanga after Animal. The film is going to be shot in Telugu primarily and dubbed in other pan-Indian languages. Prabhas is gearing up to wrap Hanu Raghavapudi’s period film and The Raja Saab before he joins Spirit
