The makers of Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa unveiled the third single from the film titled ‘Glimpse of Mahadeva Shastry - Om Namah Shivaya’ on the occasion of Mohan Babu’s birthday on Wednesday. The song is focused on Mohan Babu’s character, Mahadeva Shastry, establishing him as a powerful priest connecting the world of the film to God Shiva. The lyrics penned by Suddala Ashok Teja make a strong impact as the fiery beat composed by Stephen Devassy enhances the narrative. Shankar Mahadevan gives his signature vocals to the Shiva song.

Kannappa, which is a period fantasy drama, is based on the epic mythological story of a Shiva devotee after the same name. Vishnu Manchu is also the screenwriter for the film. The period film has a massive star cast including Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Sarathkumar, and Kajal Agarwal among others. Prabhas plays a cameo in the film as Rudra which has added significant hype for the film. The recently released teaser hints at a large-scale visual spectacle.

Kannappa is helmed by director Mukesh Kumar Singh. The epic project has cinematography by Seldon Chau and editing by Anthony Gonsalvez. The high-scale project is bankrolled by Mohan Babu, father of Manchu Vishnu, under the banners of 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainments. The film is slated for a pan-Indian release on April 25.
