A key action sequence featuring Mahesh Babu from SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film, tentatively referred to as SSMB29, is reported to have been leaked online, drawing strong reactions from fans and industry observers. The video, reportedly filmed from inside a car, shows Mahesh Babu being pushed towards a character in a wheelchair, speculated to be played by another major character in the film, before being forced to the ground at gunpoint. The leak has prompted concerns over piracy, with many urging its immediate removal and calling for better security on set.

This is not the first instance of unauthorised content from SSMB29 surfacing online. Earlier, footage of a large set constructed on Talamali hilltop in Odisha’s Koraput region was widely shared on social media. Even a few major news channels aired footage of the set work. The location is expected to serve as a major backdrop for the film’s upcoming schedule. With rising leaks, fans of Mahesh Babu and cinephiles engaged in debate over the leaks damaging the film’s excitement.

Directed by SS Rajamouli, SSMB29 is planned as a two-part release, with reports indicating the first instalment may arrive in 2027 and the second in 2029. The film, with an estimated budget of Rs 1,000 crore, is described as a globe-trotting adventure and is rumoured to feature Mahesh Babu in a role inspired by Lord Hanuman. Written by Vijayendra Prasad, the project also reportedly stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, though official confirmation is awaited.

Frequent collaborators such as costume designer Rama Rajamouli and composer M.M. Keeravani are part of the crew, while cinematographer P.S. Vinod joins the team, replacing Rajamouli’s regular, Senthil Kumar.

Following the success of RRR (2022), Rajamouli is expected to push cinematic boundaries once again with SSMB29, which is touted to be India’s most expensive film to date.
