Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa crossed the 50 crore mark at the Indian box office in its first four days. The film, which released on June 20 in five languages, recorded an India net total of Rs 51.41 crore as of its first Monday.
According to Sacnilk, Kuberaa opened with Rs 14.75 crore on Day 1, led by Telugu (Rs 10 crore) and Tamil (Rs 4.5 crore) markets. Saturday saw an increase, collecting Rs 16.5 crore. On Sunday, it added another Rs 17.35 crore.
The film’s language-wise collections reveal strong regional appeal, especially in Telugu (Rs 12.4 crore on Sunday), while Tamil remained steady (Rs 4.5 crore). Dubbed versions in Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam contributed marginally.
Kuberaa is written and directed by Sekhar Kammula. Marking a genre shift for the director, the film follows Deva (played by Dhanush), a homeless man drawn into a socio-political conspiracy, and Deepak (Nagarjuna), a former CBI officer navigating moral ambiguity. Rashmika Mandanna plays a key role, with Jim Sarbh as the antagonist.
Produced by Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations, Kuberaa was shot as a Telugu-Tamil bilingual and released with dubbed versions in Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography by Niketh Bommi and production design by Thota Tharani. The film is set to stream on Prime Video after its theatrical run.
