ZEE5 has announced the premiere date for its latest Telugu original series Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting, which will begin streaming on June 27. Directed by Krishna Poluru, the supernatural thriller is set in the 1980s and features Abhignya Vuthaluru in the lead role as a police constable investigating a series of unexplained deaths.

Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting is set in the fictional village of Viraatapalem, where a longstanding belief claims every bride dies on her wedding day. With no marriages taking place for over a decade, the population is left with only children and the elderly. When a new constable, Meena, arrives, she begins to question the superstition and investigates the cause behind the deaths, uncovering buried secrets and resistance from the fearful community.

Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting is backed by South Indian Screens, following the team’s earlier collaboration with ZEE5 on Recce. The series is written by Divya Thejaswi Pera with Charan Lakkaraju also starring alongside Abhignya Vuthaluru.

Director Krishna Poluru billed the story as a layered mystery about belief and silence, while Abhignya Vuthaluru noted the emotional intensity of her role and the rawness of shooting on real locations.
