The teaser of The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas in the lead, was released on Sunday at multiple launch events across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Directed by Maruthi and backed by People Media Factory, the horror fantasy film is scheduled for a pan-India release on December 5.

The Raja Saab’s teaser opens with the voiceover of Sanjay Dutt, whose character appears to be a former king haunting a palace he refuses to leave. Prabhas plays a cheerful, light-hearted man who stumbles into this haunted setting, joined by his group of friends, played by comedians Sathya, Sapthagiri, VTV Ganesh and Prabhas Seenu. The trailer hints at a mix of spooky happenings and comic misadventures as Prabhas navigates the eerie environment.

Two romantic interests, played by Malavika Mohanan and Nidhhi Agerwal, are introduced briefly in the teaser. While their character arcs remain under wraps, their presence adds intrigue to the narrative. Sanjay Dutt reportedly plays the role of Prabhas’s grandfather and one of the spirits haunting the mansion.

Visually, The Raja Saab’s teaser showcases several VFX-heavy sequences, with a focus on spectacle. Thaman’s background score, blending horror motifs with commercial rhythms, supports the film’s intended genre mix. The film is said to involve dual roles for Prabhas, including one as a ghost.

The film’s technical team has cinematographer Karthik Palani, production designer Rajeevan and editor Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao, with the production in its final stages. The makers are reportedly working extensively on post-production and visual effects. With a blend of horror, comedy, and sentiment, The Raja Saab aims to present a different side of Prabhas, reminiscent of his earlier comic roles in Bujjigadu and Ek Niranjan.

Prabhas’ slate includes Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, an untitled period drama with Hanu Raghavapudi, Salaar 2 and Kalki 2.
