In the wake of the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171 in Ahmedabad on June 12, several Telugu film personalities have taken to social media to express their condolences and support for the victims and their families. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, bound for London Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, resulting in the confirmed deaths of at least 30 people, with fears that the toll may rise further.

Among the first to respond was Jr NTR, who wrote on X, “Deeply saddened by the Ahmedabad Air India flight crash. Prayers and strength to everyone affected. My thoughts are with the passengers, crew members, and their families.”

Allu Arjun shared a similar sentiment, “Heartbroken by the tragic Ahmedabad Air India flight crash. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims. May their souls rest in peace. Truly heart-wrenching.”

Pawan Kalyan, actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, stated, “I am devastated by the tragic Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad. My heartfelt prayers are with all the passengers and crew onboard. While we await official updates, I offer my deepest sympathies to the families facing this unimaginable loss.”

Ram Charan posted, “Deeply saddened to know about the unfortunate plane crash in Ahmedabad. My prayers are with all the passengers, crew onboard, the affected, and their families.”

Nani added, “Heartbreaking to hear about the Air India flight crash. Tragic beyond words. My deepest condolences and strength to the families of the victims on the flight and on the ground.”

Several other Tollywood celebrities including Varun Tej, Teja Sajja, Adivi Sesh, Sharwanand, Thaman, and Gopichand Malineni also extended their condolences online.

In a show of respect, the Telugu film industry has postponed major events. The trailer launch of Kannappa, scheduled to be held in Indore on June 13, and Dhanush’s Kuberaa pre-release event in Hyderabad, have both been postponed.
