Dhee, the 2007 action-comedy starring Vishnu Manchu and Genelia Deshmukh, is set for a theatrical re-release on June 6. Directed by Sreenu Vaitla, the film was a huge commercial success upon its original release and played a pivotal role in establishing Vishnu Manchu as a mainstream actor.

Set against a backdrop of gang rivalry, Dhee follows the story of Babloo (Vishnu Manchu), a carefree and smart youngster who unintentionally becomes entangled in the world of Shankar Goud, a feared gangster. His romance with Pooja (Genelia), Shankar’s sister, adds a humorous layer to the narrative.

Dhee also features Srihari in a prominent role, with a popular comedy track by Brahmanandam and a supporting subplot involving Sunil. The film’s witty dialogues and fast-paced screenplay made it a favourite among audiences, and its box-office performance marked a turning point for both Vishnu and Sreenu Vaitla.

The re-release of Dhee also coincides with the promotional campaign for Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming project Kannappa, scheduled to hit cinemas on June 27. The mythological action-drama features actors like Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal among others.
