Mahesh Babu has extended his support to the romantic drama Saiyaara, calling it a ‘beautifully made film with honest storytelling and standout performances.’ He shared his thoughts in a post on X (formerly Twitter), praising the film’s young leads and overall execution.

“Take a bow #Saiyaara team…What a beautifully made film with honest storytelling, standout performances and top notch execution….. Big love to #AhaanPanday & #AneetPadda for living their roles so effortlessly… This one deserves all the love coming its way…,” Mahesh Babu wrote.

Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara stars newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in the lead roles. The film tells the story of Krish Kapoor, a hot-headed young musician, and Vaani, a newcomer songwriter. Their relationship begins with friction, but eventually develops into a romance. However, the trailer hints at conflict and heartbreak in the second half. The film’s musical backbone features contributions from Mithoon, Sachet–Parampara, Vishal Mishra, Rishabh Kant, Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami.

Saiyaara marks the first production by Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films. It is presented by Aditya Chopra. The story is written by Sankalp Sadanah, with dialogues by Rohan Shankar.

Our review of the film read: “Earlier this month, director Anurag Basu gave his take on modern love and relationships with Metro…In Dino. Suri’s Saiyaara might have nothing new to say but what is alluring is that it bears the director’s authentic voice. The music, however, works better in the film, than it does on a jukebox. If you are a middle-aged millennial, vexed with Hindi cinema not coming up with anything fresh, Saiyaara will give you respite by taking you to the good old days.”

Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is currently shooting SS Rajamouli’s pan-Indian action-adventure SSMB29.
