The first single from Rashmika Mandanna’s The Girlfriend, titled ‘Nadhive’, was released on Wednesday. The song is a slow, evocative track expressing romance and longing through lyrical visuals and expressive choreography.

The song from The Girlfriend is composed and sung by Hesham Abdul Wahab, with lyrics penned by Rakendu Mouli. The music video features lead actors Rashmika Mandanna and Dheekshith Shetty in a slow dance routine set in expansive, empty landscapes. The choreography by Vishwakiran Nambi is interpretative, expressing love, heartbreak, and vulnerability through movement.

The makers opted to release a full-fledged music video with the song, an approach that is relatively uncommon ahead of a film’s release. The video builds on the emotional tone established in The Girlfriend’s teaser and aims to present the characters’ bond visually and emotionally before the narrative unfolds.

The Girlfriend is written and directed by Rahul Ravindran, who previously helmed Manmadhudu 2. The teaser, released earlier on Rashmika’s birthday, offered a brief glimpse into her character, without revealing much of the plot. The film appears to revolve around a layered female protagonist, with Rashmika playing a central role.

The film is produced by Dheeraj Mogilineni and Vidya Koppineedi, with cinematography by Krishnan Vasant. It is presented by Allu Aravind under the Geetha Arts banner. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.

Rashmika Mandanna was last seen in Kuberaa, which drew acclaim for her performance, while Dheekshith Shetty was recently seen in Dasara and other ensemble dramas.
