Niharika Konidela officially launched her second production under her banner, Pink Elephant Pictures, with a traditional pooja ceremony held on Wednesday. Tentatively referred to as PEP2, the film is billed as a fantasy-comedy and features Sangeeth Shobhan and Nayan Sarika in the lead roles.

The ceremony was attended by notable film industry personalities including directors Nag Ashwin, Mallidi Vassishta and Kalyan Shankar. Nag Ashwin gave the first clap, Mallidi Vassishta switched on the camera, and Kalyan Shankar directed the first shot. The regular shoot is set to begin on July 15 in and around Hyderabad.

Directed by Manasa Sharma, PEP2 reunites the creative team behind the ZEE5 series Oka Chinna Family Story. Sharma has also written the story, with screenplay and dialogues co-written with Mahesh Uppala. The project continues her collaboration with Nayan Sarika, following their work together on Bench Life and Hello World.

The supporting cast of PEP2 includes Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharani, Ashish Vidyarthi, Getup Srinu, Sukwinder Singh, Aruna Bikshu, Ramana Bhargav, Vasu Inturi, Rohini, and Rohan from #90s. The music is composed by Anudeep Dev, cinematography by Raju Edurolu, and editing by Anwar Ali. Niharika’s Pink Elephant Pictures previously backed the acclaimed Committee Kurrollu.
