Even as Venkatesh continues to bask in the success of his latest family entertainer Sankranthiki Vasthunam, the actor’s fans have another surprise in store. Reportedly, the makers of the 2013 film Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, where Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu played the lead roles, are planning to re-release their film in theatres.

Directed by Srikanth Addala, SVSC told the story of a kind-hearted, middle-aged man (Prakash Raj) and his family, who are living a content life in a small village despite their share of misfortunes. Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu played brothers in the film, with their characters grappling with unemployment and many societal pressures.

Also starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Anjali, Jayasudha, and Rohini Hattangidi in prominent roles, SVSC was the second-highest grossing Telugu film of the year and has since gone on to acquire a cult following among movie lovers. It also marked the only time Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu worked together.

SVSC was produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. While no official announcement about the film’s theatrical re-release has been made, the makers are reportedly planning to re-release SVSC on the occasion of Maha Shivratri.
