Payal Rajput, who rose to fame with films like RX 100 and Mangalavaaram, will soon be seen headlining a pan-India film titled Venkatalachimi. The film was officially launched with a grand pooja ceremony at Ramanaidu Studios on Thursday.

Billed as an action revenge drama with a tribal girl as the protagonist, Venkatalachimi is written and directed by Muni. Raja and NS Choudhary are the producers.

Payal Rajput said at the launch ceremony, “When Muni narrated the script, I was captivated. This story is so powerful that it might even make people remember me as ‘Venkatalachimi’ forever. I firmly believe this pan-India project will take my career to the next level." Muni stated, “When I envisioned the story of Venkatalachimi, I knew instantly that Payal Rajput was the perfect choice for the lead role. ” 

Saurabhh Dhingra plays the male lead, and Vikas Badisha is the music director for Venkatalachimi. More details about the film’s primary cast and crew are yet to be announced. 

Besides Telugu, the film will have theatrical release in dubbed versions of Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
