IT dept conducts raid at Pushpa 2 director Sukumar’s residence: Reports

Yesterday, the department had initiated similar raids at homes and offices of Dil Raju and Mythri Movie Makers producers

Yesterday, we had reported about the Income Tax department conducting raids at the residences and offices of prominent Telugu producers like Dil Raju and Naveen Yerneni among others. Today, the IT department has reportedly conducted raid at the house of Pushpa 2 director Sukumar.

The IT officials have reportedly claimed that IT payments have not been made in accordance with the collections of his film Pushpa2. Meanwhile, the officials are also keeping a watch on all bank transactions of Mythri Movie Makers, the producers of Pushpa 2.

Dil Raju, meanwhile had two big releases a couple of days ago, with Game Changer and Sankranthiki Vasthunam. The latter has performed very well at the box office, grossing over 150 crores worldwide within 7 days of its run at the ticket counters. 

Reports suggest that these raid are part of a broader investigation to detect tax evasion within Telugu film industry.
