Sandeep Raj, who rose to limelight with his 2020 film Colour Photo, is making his next film with Roshan Kanakala, titled Mowgli. On Tuesday, the makers launched the character poster for its female lead Sakshi S Mhadholkar.

Sakshi will make her Telugu debut with the film. The newly released poster features the actress in an intense avatar, where she is donning a goddess-like attire. 

Mowgli was officially launched in December 2024 with a muhurtham puja ceremony, which was attended by filmmakers like Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Srikanth Odela among others. The film, billed as a love story set against a forest backdrop, is being produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner. The film has been tentatively scheduled for a theatrical release later this year, although the makers have not announced a date. 

Kaala Bhairava has been signed as the music director for Mowgli. The cinematography will be handled by Rama Maruti M, who has worked on films like the Baahubali franchise and RRR. Pavankalyan is the editor. 

Roshan, who is the son of popular TV presenter Suma Kanakala, made his on-screen debut with the 2023 film Bubble Gum. Sakshi, meanwhile, played a prominent part in the Hina Khan starrer web series Namacool.
