Director Shankar has dismissed Anurag Kashyap's reservations about his approach to the making of the upcoming Ram Charan starrer Game Changer. In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Kashyap had expressed his thoughts about Shankar's alleged focus on catering to short attention spans, influenced by the prevalence of social media reels. Shankar, at a pre-release event in Dallas, had acknowledged the changing viewing habits of audiences, particularly the younger generation. He emphasised the importance of engaging editing in Game Changer to maintain viewer interest, given their shorter attention spans. He praised editor Ruben for delivering a fast-paced film that keeps audiences hooked in today's day and age.
Kashyap, while acknowledging Shankar's statement about accommodating the reel generation in cinema, expressed uncertainty about its implications for the film's overall quality. He further lamented the current state of Hindi cinema, hinting at a possible relocation to South India.
Game Changer, starring Ram Charan as an IAS officer alongside Kiara Advani and Anjali, is a political action thriller slated for a January 10 release.
