An upcoming film Shashtipurthi, produced by MAA AAI Productions, is currently in the spotlight for its unique musical collaboration. Featuring Roopesh and Akanksha Singh in lead roles, the family drama brings together veteran actors Rajendra Prasad and Archana, marking their first collaboration since the classic comedy, Ladies Tailor which came out 38 years ago. Directed by Pavan Prabha and produced by Rupesh Chowdary, the film promises a compelling mix of nostalgia and novelty.

The film’s song ‘Edo Ye Janmalodo’ boasts a rare collaboration between two of Indian cinema’s musical legends. While Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music, Oscar-winning MM Keeravani has penned the lyrics. “This song is truly special as it unites Ilaiyaraaja Garu and Keeravani Garu,” said director Pavan Prabha. “Keeravani Garu graciously took time from his busy schedule in Chennai to write the lyrics, making it a memorable addition to the album.”

Producer Rupesh Chowdary described the experience as “thoroughly rewarding,” especially while working with stalwarts like Rajendra Prasad and Archana. With the production completed, the team plans to announce the release date soon.

Shashtipurthi’s crew includes costume designer Ayesha Mariam, art director Thota Tharani, and choreographer Swarna Master, with Ilaiyaraaja helming the music.
