Sukumar’s daughter’s debut Gandhi Tatha Chettu locks release date

Featuring Sukriti Veni Bandreddi, the film is touted as a heartwarming emotional story

Sukriti Veni Bandreddi, daughter of director Sukumar, is set to make her acting debut with Gandhi Tatha Chettu. The film, directed by Padmavathi Malladi, is scheduled for theatrical release on January 24. Jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and Gopi Talkies, the film features Anand Chakrapani, Raghu Ram, Bhanu Prakash, Nehal Anand Kumkuma, and Rag Mayur in key roles. The film’s music is composed by Ree.

The story follows a young girl’s efforts to save her grandfather’s cherished tree through Gandhian principles of non-violence and peaceful resistance. The narrative highlights themes of harmony, ecological balance, and women’s empowerment, while emphasizing coexistence.

Gandhi Tatha Chettu has already received international recognition, with Sukriti Veni being honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Best Child Artist. Gandhi Tatha Chettu has also won awards at the Noida International Film Festival, Dubai International Film Festival, and Jaipur International Film Festival. The technical team includes cinematographers Srijitha Cheruvupally and Vishwa Devabattula, production designer V. Nani Pandu, and sound designers Nagarjun Thalapalli and Shyamal Sikdar.
