Actor Prudhvi Raj, who is popularly known as 30-years Prudhvi, has been hospitalised due to high BP on Tuesday. The senior artist stirred controversy after he made a few comments indirectly jabbing at YSRCP during the pre-release event of the upcoming Vishwak Sen starrer Laila

During the event, Prudhvi Raj spoke of his comic role in Laila. He said he was playing a shepherd in the film and during the initial days of the shoot there were 150 sheep, while during the last scene, there were only 11 sheep remaining. Supporters of YSRCP took the remark as a veiled comment at their party’s defeat in the recent AP elections. Since then, ‘Boycott Laila’ has been trending online.

The film’s producer Sahu Garapati and Vishwak Sen even spoke to the media on Monday and apologised. Vishwak Sen expressed concern over the situation, highlighting that ‘Boycott Laila’ had already generated around 25,000 tweets. He also noted a Twitter user’s claim of possessing the film’s HD print and threatening to release it online. Netizens and supporters of YSRCP have been demanding an apology from Prudhvi Raj and reports suggest that he has been trolled viciously which resulted in his hospitalisation.

Laila, directed by Ram Narayan, also stars Akanksha Sharma. The film has Vishwak Sen appearing in a female makeover. The entertainer is coming to screens on February 14.
