On Monday, Netflix released their release slate for the year 2025, which included many big projects like Akka, Jewel Thief, Nadaaniyan, and Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***rds of Bollywood. During the same announcement, the streamer also officially announced their first Telugu web series, titled Super Subbu.

The streamer also released a brief teaser of the show. Headlined by Sundeep Kishan, the show promises to tell the story of an awkward and unlucky young man who is forced to take up a job centred on sex education in his small, conservative town named Makhipur. Mallik Ram, who directed the blockbuster sequel Tillu Square, is the creator of Super Subbu. Chilaka Productions is the banner behind the show.

The ensemble cast of Super Subbu includes Maanasa Chaudhary, Murali Sharma, and Brahmanandam. Reportedly, the show also stars Mithila Palkar, who has earlier worked in a few Telugu movies like Ori Devuda. More details about the show’s crew and release date are yet to be announced.

Maanasa Chaudhary made her debut with the 2023 film Bubble Gum. Sundeep Kishan, meanwhile, has a theatrical release coming up with Mazaka.
