On Saturday, the makers of Psych Siddhartha released their new single, titled ‘Mohamaatam’. The Shree Nandu starrer dark comedy is slated for theatrical release on January 1.

Composed by Smaran Sai, ‘Mohamaatam’ is a moody composition, with strong influences of jazz and blues, that adds a melancholic flavour to the universe of Psych Siddhartha, that largely promises to be a zany comedy about flawed characters. Sravya Kothalanka is the playback singer for ‘Mohamaatam’ while lyrics are co-penned by director Varun Reddy and Niklesh Sunkoji. Meanwhile, Meghna, Manasa and Sabihaa and Smaran Sai are credited for additional vocals.

The lyrical video also subtly builds on the love triangle that lies at the core of the film, where Siddhartha is getting close to his neighbour while struggling to move on from his ex-lover.

Psych Siddhartha marks the directorial debut for Varun Reddy.  Shyam Sunder Reddy Thudi and Shree Nandu have produced the film under the banners of Nanduness and Keep Rolling Pictures. Suresh Productions is onboard as the presenter.

While Shree Nandu plays the titular role, the ensemble cast includes Yamini Bhaskar, Priyanka Rebekah Srinivas, Sakshi Atree, Mounika, Narasimha S, Sukesh, Wadekar Narsing, and Pradyumna Billuri.

Shree Nandu has also been credited with additional screenplay for the film. Smaran Sai is the music director for the film. Other key technicians include K Prakash Reddy as the cinematographer and Prateek Nuti as the editor.

As of now, Psych Siddhartha remains the only Telugu release slated for January 1 release.  Additionally, the Telugu version of Gatha Vaibhavam too will arrive in theatres on January 1.
