Christmas Day marks Sandeep Reddy Vanga's birthday, and many public figures, including his Spirit star Prabhas, wished the filmmaker on the special occasion. Sharing a photograph of the Animal filmmaker on his Instagram Stories, Prabhas wrote, "Happy birthday bro... Can't wait for everyone to witness what you're creating."
Speaking of Prabhas, the filmmaker once turned down the actor's proposition for remaking a Hollywood film. Speaking to Galatta Plus, Sandeep said that he received an offer for a film, starring Prabhas, before Animal's release, although it did not materialise. Sandeep revealed that he told Prabhas that he would let him know if an original idea came to the filmmaker's mind. Then, Sandeep revealed that Prabhas suggested a Hollywood remake to him, but he turned it down. "It is not working for me, the Hollywood remake," Sandeep said before revealing that he felt that an original film would be great for Prabhas.
While Prabhas earned plenty of appreciation and tasted commercial success with a Telugu remake of Billa, his big-ticket actioner Saaho did not fare well at the box office. After Saaho, he has focused on films with more rooted stories, such as Adipurush, Salaar, and Kalki 2898 AD.
Spirit marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film made headlines after Deepika Padukone's exit from it, reportedly due to a conflict with her work schedule demands. Subsequently, Triptii Dimri replaced Deepika in the film as its female lead. Production on the film, also starring Prakash Raj and Vivek Oberoi, is underway. Interestingly, it stars Prabhas in the role of a rogue officer who has a single bad habit.
Besides, Prabhas' upcoming films include The Raja Saab, Fauzi, and a sequel to Kalki 2898 AD.
