After a lot of hurdles and legal hassles, Akhanda 2 is finally set for theatrical release on Friday. The makers have planned several premiere shows both in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, we had reported about the Akhanda 2 team getting price hike for premiere shows as well as first 10 days of theatrical release.

Now, in a major turn of events, Telangana High Court has now reportedly revoke the orders. The decision also includes cancellation of special shows that were scheduled for tonight. However, since the booking for regular shows have already commenced, it remains to be seen whether film-goers will be issued a refund, or the new orders will come in effect only from Saturday onwards.

Meanwhile, the makers of Mowgli, which is the other major Telugu release this week, have kept a ticket price of Rs 99 for single screens. With this decision, the Mowgli team hopes to catch the attention of film-lovers. If the reviews for Akhanda 2 are not particularly glowing, Mowgli might benefit to a great extent with this move.

On the other hand, the clarity on whether Akhanda 2 team will manage to carry on with their premiere shows as planned earlier is still pending. The Balakrishna starrer also features Samyuktha and Harshaali Malhotra in the lead cast.
