December 5 marks the completion of 1 year since the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule, the mammoth box office hit starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. To mark the occasion, Allu Arjun fans have organised a special screening on Friday in Hyderabad.
Several videos can be seen circulating on social media, where fans can be seen celebrating outside the movie theatre. Earlier, on Friday, Allu Arjun penned a special note on his journey with the Pushpa franchise. Taking to his X page, the Pushpa actor wrote, “ PUSHPA has been an unforgettable five-year journey in our lives. This movie’s audience has given us immense love, strength, and courage to dive deeper into our craft. We will always be grateful to everyone in this country and beyond for making it a phenomenon. It has been my honour to walk this journey with all my artists, technicians, the entire unit, producers, distributors, and of course, our captain Sukumar garu."
Made under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers in association with Sukumar Writings, Pushpa 2: The Rule set a new benchmark with its iconic dialogues to its thundering BGM and its larger-than-life aura, and emerged as the biggest film of the year. Grossing over Rs 1800 crore worldwide, it became the second-highest-grossing film in India, the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, the second-highest-grossing Telugu film of all time, and the third-highest-grossing Indian film worldwide.
Incidentally, Pushpa: The Rise too released in the month of December, in 2021. At a time when Indian cinema was struggling to bring audience back to theatres in a post-COVID scenario, Pushpa emerged as a pan-India phenomenon, breaking the language barrier and making Allu Arjun a household name across the nation.
Allu Arjun is currently busy working for Atlee’s next film, tentatively titled AA22xA6, which also stars Deepika Padukone.
