Exactly one year ago, an unfortunate incident took place on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre, where a stampede led to a severely injured 8-year-old Sritej while his mother, Revathi, lost her life. A massive crowd had gathered at the theatre for Allu Arjun’s appearance during the Pushpa 2 premiere, leading to the tragic accident. Following the incident, Allu Arjun also faced legal complications.
Recently, reports emerged claiming that Bhaskar approached Allu Arjun again seeking additional financial support, alleging that the actor had not responded. Bhaskar reportedly stated that his son still requires extensive medical care and rehabilitation.
On Thursday, producer Dil Raju appeared in a video along with Bhaskar and his brother to clarify the situation and provide an update on the child’s health and financial aid. In the video, Bhaskar expressed his gratitude to Allu Arjun. “My son is recovering well, and it is all because of Allu Arjun and Bunny Vasu sir,” he said. He explained that Sritej now needs rehabilitation treatment, which requires further financial support. “I informed Dil Raju garu about it, and he assured me that he will arrange it,” Bhaskar added.
In the video statement, Dil Raju clarified that Allu Arjun and Allu Aravind have been supporting the family right from the beginning. “The good thing is that Sritej is recovering very well. When the incident happened last year, as per Allu Arjun’s instructions, I arranged a deposit of ₹2 crore. From the interest earned, ₹75,000 is provided to the family every month for the boy’s medical and living expenses. The remaining interest continues to add to the principal so it benefits the boy and the family in the long run,” said Dil Raju. He also mentioned that Allu Arjun spent nearly ₹70 lakh on the boy’s medical treatment in the initial months.
“Now, Bhaskar is asking for additional support for his son’s rehabilitation. I will speak to Allu Arjun and Allu Aravind garu and ensure he receives the required assistance,” assured Dil Raju.
Allu Arjun, his father Allu Aravind, and producer Bunny Vasu had met the family immediately after the tragedy, and had assured full financial support for the child’s treatment. The family was provided timely assistance, and the boy was admitted to a private hospital. Since then, Allu Arjun, Aravind, and Bunny Vasu have been monitoring Sritej’s condition through producer and Film Development Corporation chairman Dil Raju.
With this renewed assurance, Bhaskar expressed his gratitude towards Allu Arjun, Allu Aravind, and Bunny Vasu, and said he is relieved that his son is steadily recovering and looking healthier.
