After taking an impressive opening at the box office on Thursday, Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom held up quite well on Friday. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Kingdom was one of the most anticipated films of the year.

The action-thriller collected Rs 7.5 crore on day 2 at domestic box office, according to a report from boxoffice tracker Sacnilk.com. The makers also updated the Friday domestic figures which now stand at Rs 18 crore (nett).

The drop is nearly of 58 percent, which is pretty standard for hyped star vehicles in Telugu cinema.  What also helps Kingdom is the extended weekend factor, giving the film more time to bank on the word-of-mouth and bring in family audiences over the weekend. While the film collected Rs 13.25 crore in the overseas on its opening day, the film’s overseas figures on day 2 are yet to be ascertained.

The domestic collections for Kingdom on Saturday witnessed a steady progress as the day passed, peaking at 61 percent occupancy for night shows. The film registerted highest occupancies in Hyderabad, followed by Warangal and Vishakhapatnam.

Produced by S Naga Vamsi, Kingdom also stars Satyadev in a prominent role and Bhagyashri as the female lead. Anirudh’s music for the film has become quite popular. The film also received a lot of praise for its technical values, especially the cinematography by Jomon T John and Girish Gangadharan.
