The 2022 biographical action drama Major, starring Adivi Sesh and Saiee M Manjrekar, is set to be screened in Japan later this month. The Indian Embassy in Japan will host a special screening on April 29, between 2:00 pm and 4:50 pm. The screening is set to feature Japanese subtitles and is open to the public with prior registration.

Major is based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the NSG commando who lost his life during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Adivi Sesh, who also co-wrote the film, portrays the titular character, while Saiee M Manjrekar plays the role of his wife. The film explores their relationship alongside the soldier’s sacrifice on the day of the tragic attacks.

The screening in Japan reflects growing global interest in Indian stories, as recently Devara 2 and RRR: Behind and Beyond got a release there.

Meanwhile, Adivi Sesh will next be seen in G2 and Dacoit, while Saiee Manjrekar’s upcoming film Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi is set to release on April 18.
