Dear Uma trailer: An aspiring musician’s life takes a turn after a divine medical intervention

The official trailer of upcoming film Dear Uma was released on Friday. The film stars Pruthvi Ambaar as the male lead, while Sumaya Reddy plays the female lead.

In Dear Uma, Pruthvi plays Dev an aspiring singer who is struggling with a series of misfortunes. His life takes a major turn after he meets and falls in love with Uma (Sumaya), a benevolent doctor. However, after a medical surgery that leads to unprecedented outcomes, Dev transforms into a different persona altogether. Directed by Sai Rajesh Mahadev, Dear Uma also promises to offer social commentary about the corporatisation of medical practises and the importance of ethics in noble professions like doctors. 

Besides playing the female lead, Sumaya is also the story writer and producer for the film. Meanwhile, the screenplay and dialogues are by Sai Rajesh Mahadev. 

The supporting cast of the film includes Kamal Kamaraju, Sapthagiri, Ajay Ghosh, Aamani, Rajeev Kanakala, Prithviraj, and Roopa Lakshmi. Raj Thota serves as the cinematographer, while Radhan is on board as the music composer.

Dear Uma will hit theatres on April 18.
