We had reported a few days ago about Puri Jagannadh signing Vijay Sethupathi for his next film. Now, Tabu has come onboard for the same project. 

The film’s producers, Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur, shared a photo with the Andhadhun actor, confirming the collaboration. The makers shared the announcement post with the caption, “She’s electric. She’s explosive. She’s The Tabu. Proudly welcoming The Gem of Indian Cinema, Actress Tabu on-board for a role as dynamic as her presence, in #PuriSethupathi.”

Reportedly, Puri Jagannadh is planning to commence the shoot for the film in June. The makers are also planning to release the film in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The film, reportedly titled Beggar, marks Puri’s first collaboration with both Vijay Sethupathi and Tabu.

Tabu, who is from Hyderabad, worked in a few Telugu films in the early years of her career, like Coolie no 1 and Ninne Pelladatha. Her last Telugu film was the Allu Arjun-starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), which emerged as a massive commercial success. 

Puri Jagannadh’s previous film, Double iSmart, was a commercial failure.
