Kali, the Prince Cecil-Naresh Agastya starrer thriller, is slated for a theatrical release this week. Ahead of the film’s release, the film’s director, Siva Sashu, spoke about the primary messaging of his film.
Talking about the story of his film, which revolves around a lonely man who faces many difficulties because of his kindness, Siva said, “The society he lives in treats him harshly, pushing him to contemplate suicide, until a stranger arrives at his home. In our movie, we aim to convey that suicide is not the solution to life's problems. According to a survey, 70 percent of people consider suicide at some point.”
Siva, who has also worked as a ghostwriter for several films, said that he developed the script for Kali during the lockdown, adding that they had initially considered Jagapathi Babu for a major role, which is now being played by Naresh Agastya. The director also stated that they have placed special importance on the use of VFX in their movie, adding, “The residence of Kali has been grandly visualised using VFX, which you will see at the end of the trailer.”
Produced by Leela Gautam Varma under Rudra Creations banner and presented by renowned story writer K. Raghavendra Reddy, Kali also features Neha Krishnan as the female lead. Additionally, notable actor Priyadarshi provides the voice for the character Bali, while Mahesh Vitta and Ayyappa P. Sharma also contribute voiceovers.
